Our Story
Athlens started with a simple idea: what if student-athletes could easily capture their best moments—and student creators were the ones behind the lens? High school athletes needed affordable, high-quality media. Student creators wanted real opportunities to get paid doing what they love. Athlens bridges that gap. It’s a two-sided marketplace where athletes book creators for game coverage, custom content, and brand-building—while creators gain real gigs, real pay, and a platform to grow. Co-founded by Jais Roy, a varsity soccer player, and Aidan Rico, a student creator, Athlens is about more than content—it’s about giving the next generation the power to create, compete, and connect.
How did it all begin?
It all started with a problem we kept seeing on both sides of the field: high school athletes were putting in the work, but had no way to consistently capture their performances. At the same time, student creators—photographers, videographers, designers—were looking for real opportunities to grow their skills and get paid.
So we created Athlens—a two-sided marketplace where athletes can book student creators to cover their games, build their brands, and tell their stories. It’s a platform built by students, for students, to give everyone a shot at visibility and impact.
What is your mission?
Athlens exists to empower the next generation of athletes and creators.
We’re on a mission to create opportunities for high school students—on both sides of the camera. For athletes, we provide access to affordable, high-quality media that helps with recruiting, branding, and memories. For creators, we offer a real way to monetize their skills, grow their portfolios, and break into the sports industry early.
By helping both sides succeed, we’re building more than just a media marketplace—we’re building a movement.
Who is your audience?
We’re focused on two core groups: • Student-athletes looking for highlight reels, in-game content, and professional-level media for their recruiting journeys or social platforms. • Student creators—photographers, videographers, editors, and designers—who want real work, real pay, and a real chance to build something.
Right now, we’re building for high school athletes and creators who are hungry, driven, and ready to take their passions to the next level. If that sounds like you, we’re glad you’re here.
